Minecarts resting on rails over slime blocks are launched into the air by pistons

Nah in 1.21.1 and before the Minecart behaves differently there, it only jumps far up without rails but not with rails (Rail, Powered_Rail, Activator_Rail)

except the Detector Rail

The old behaviour didn't make sense. This is more consistent and also has more uses for various contraptions.

I see that different, which is why I reported the bug 

"Minecart jumps too high" is vague, therefore this issue can not be clearly reproduced and confirmed.
