You die if you fall in a minecart from a half block on a waterlogged slab that is on the lower level

To replicate, place a fence and drop a minecart on it. Then, place a slab about 50 blocks below at the lower level and put water on it. After that, sit in the minecart and drop down into the water, than for some reason, you die.
