[MC-278333] Snow doesn't let light pass through it

Snow layers don't let light pass through it, even light that should melt the snow.

Replicate this setup:

There will be no light that passes through the snow layer, as if it is a solid block

Above, as seen at night

[media]

Without the snow layer
