sorry it took so long I was busy with other stuff anyway so what is happening is that when you have a bottle in a dispenser facing a beehive if you activate the bee hive with Redstone dust the bottled honey goes into the hopper but if you activate it with a repeater or a button the bottle of honey will stay in the dispenser

How you recreate this is you put a hopper on the bottom a beehive with level 5 honey and a dispenser with a empty bottle then activate it with a repeater or button to recreate it

Is “the bottle of honey will stay in the hopper” what you meant to write? According to your description, in both scenarios you end up with a bottle of honey inside a hopper. What actually happens to the bottle in the incorrect case? Am I right in assuming that there is a hopper below the beehive that isn’t visible in the screenshot?

Also please show how you’re actually powering the dispenser in all scenarios. Your screenshot shows neither a button (which supposedly doesn’t work) nor a redstone wire (which supposedly does work) running into the dispenser.

From your description it sounds like you’re accidentally locking the hopper by hard-powering the beehive directly above it, which prevents it from picking up items.

Thanks for the correction Charlotte what I meant to say was that the bottle of honey will stay the dispenser and not go into a hopper if it's below the beehive. Also you are correct about there being a hopper under the beehive in the photo. I am powering it with a repeater as seen in the photo (yes it can power it through a hopper). And yes I know it is locking the hopper above the bee hive

I cannot reproduce this issue from recreating your setup. The dispenser fires, and the honey bottle makes its way to the hopper below.
Please double check that there is no foreign signal interfering with the hopper below and locking it, and also check that MC-108 is not causing any trouble for you.
