Chickens randomly flap their wings when appearing into newly loaded chunks

When a chicken gets loaded in a chunk that has just been loaded, they will flap their wings a bit for seemingly no reason before stopping. I found this out by teleporting straight to a few chickens that were in unloaded chucks.

You can reproduce this by taking note of a chicken's coordinates, going far away from it, (probably about 200 blocks or something) and then teleporting straight back to the chicken. You should notice that the wings will flap for a brief period of time before stopping.

I am able to reproduce the reported behavior. It was introduced in Minecraft 14w25b, presumably alongside the fix of MC-56899. However, this has already been reported in MC-64952.

Worth noting this also occurs when spawning in a chicken with a spawn egg.

Thank you for your report!
After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.

Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
