The escape characters in the text component are not working

The escape characters in the text component stopped working in 25w06a. They worked fine in 1.21.4.
I know you are currently working on changes to the text component features, but I didn't find any changes in the update log that would cause this issue. If this is not a bug, please let me know how I should modify my usage.
