Falling blocks ignore #minecraft:replaceable

Falling blocks replace all the blocks listed in minecraft/tag/blocks/replaceable.json but does so from internal rules rather than the block tag. Adding or removing values via a datapack (with “replace”: true) is correctly reflected with /execute if block 10 72 10 #minecraft:replaceablebut does not affect minecraft:falling_block

As the blocks that minecraft:falling_block replaces is a 1:1 match with the contents of unmodified minecraft:blocks/replaceable it seems reasonable that it’s expected that it should use that block tag.

Blocks replacing blocks that aren’t marked as replaceable isn’t a bug? Ok, moved bug report to a feature request on discord;

Minecraft Feedback Discord: Java-Datapacks > Falling blocks should adhere to `#minecraft:replaceable`

As reasons are rare and I noticed on discord this ticket had been mentioned, apparently this tag was mentioned in https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/trails-tales-update-out-today-java and explicitly marked with “This tag only represents the internal state of the game, changing this tag does not make blocks replaceable”.

So the tag was indeed knowingly limited in its implementation. Fair enough.
