I set up a zerotick piston with two blocks in front of it and one block down, a repeating command block that sets the block above to air,
I was experimenting and set an observer on the above piston, I began placing blocks in front of the piston, this time, the piston stopped pushing, and the block above the command block stayed stone, even when I broke the command block, the stone stayed and when I broke it, it reappeared
