English (UK/Canidian) language gives colour as a synax for a command, but it isn't accepted

If you do /scoreboard teams option it will reply:

Usage: /scoreboard teams option <team> <friendlyfire|colour> <value>

However, if you do /scoreboard teams option Foo colour blue
it will be seen as an error and give the above message again
