I went to the end to defeat the ender dragon but when i died there it respawned me again in the little box in the end again. Now I have no way to escape nor get my items back.

Entering an end portal always spawns you on the obsidian platform in the end. If you’re respawning directly in the end it means your spawnpoint got set there somehow. If that is the case, you can fix it by (assuming this is a singleplayer game):
Pause the game
Open to LAN with “Allow Commands“ enabled
Run the following in chat:
/execute in minecraft:overworld run spawnpoint @s 0 -65 0This will set your spawnpoint to an obstructed location, ensuring that next time you die (or defeat the dragon), you will return to the overworld spawn area.
Reload the game (to end the LAN session and disallow running further commands)
Die again or defeat the dragon
In any case this is not a Minecraft bug so this report be closed as Invalid.
