[MC-28560] Carpet next to water

I put staionary water on an wall the bottom and front is open, the water was coverd by 1 block on the front, back and 2 sides. The bottom and top were open, and i put a pice of carpet on the block in front of the water, and it expanded.

Did you block the water, using the carpet, from flowing into the open block in the ground? Hard to tell from the screenshot.

Placing any blocks besides stationary water updates it.
