When I tried to create a door that is flush with the wall (Pistons pushing pistons pushing blocks out etc.), I noticed that the pushed piston does not hold it's block.
What I expected to happen was...:
I expected the piston to hold it's block in front of it.
What actually happened was...:
The piston was pushed independently.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place a sticky piston.
2. Place another sticky piston facing away from the first one. Make sure it is in front of the first one's pushy side.
3. Place a block in front of the second piston's pushy side.
4. Power the first piston and OBSERVE THE BUG.
The first screenshot shows what happens before the piston is powered.
The second one shows what happens when the piston is powered.
I have tried this in 1.4.2, and the 1.4.4 Pre-release, and neither work. 😞

I marked it as resolved... no need to delete it; if nothing else it's a good example of how a ticket should look. Thanks for making high-quality reports. 🙂
This is by design. Sticky pistons only stick to blocks while retracting.
Edit: To make a flush door just add another sticky piston to the place where the redstone torch is, facing towards the block.
