The texture of the sugar cane is very much darker in the game, than in the .png file and looks totally unnatural to my opinion.
Could be a biome colour mistake, I don't know but please fix this 🙂

So why is the texture file still old and bright? /assets/minecraft/textures/blocks/reeds.png.
If this had been a texture it wouldn't change the colour of the sugarcane in other Resource Packs.
Even if it's a bug or a new feature, I really like this new texture. The darker color is color to the real thing.
This should be marked as works as intended. The sugar cane color changes according to biome to add another hint of realism to the game.
Which is brilliant except for the fact that Minecraft's colormap functionality is MIA, putting MCPatcher on notice.
I'm pretty sure this is a valid issue. The image of all other biome influenced plants are gray-scale (grass, leaves, ferns, lily pads, ect.) while the sugar cane's image has not changed. If the biome influenced sugar cane is a feature, someone seems to have forgotten to fix the image, so this is a valid issue. I for one, believe this is a bug.
After turning the texture to gray it's the same color as tallgrass.. I mean it's not bad that they are adding a biome color to it but they really should add also a foliage file in the colormaps folder just for the sugarcane. Otherwise I'll try to experiment with the color of the sugarcane texture, to give back it's old look.
I think that the biome color shading is not working correctly on the sugar cane.
