I continued to have the worst FPS drops I've ever had since I upgraded my computer. I was dropping down to 6 and 9 fps and maxing out around 60 It never got better for me. I have my MC set to fairly default settings, I even dropped my render distance down and still had horrible problems with it.
I'm pretty sure this is a valid issue. The image of all other biome influenced plants are gray-scale (grass, leaves, ferns, lily pads, ect.) while the sugar cane's image has not changed. If the biome influenced sugar cane is a feature, someone seems to have forgotten to fix the image, so this is a valid issue. I for one, believe this is a bug.
David and Nathan, This is not only a chunk loading issue so long as no chunks can load or unload while you are right there working or idling.
I have tested it numerous times and they will escape while idling in the vicinity. It is not the visual sliding issue that I'm talking about. I have a creative world where I have been testing it and my single player map is what brought me to test it because while I was sheering sheep they were escaping from closed pens.
I have all 6 fence types (cobble, mossy cobble, nether brick, gates, and wooden) set up with a 3*4 space inside and 6 sheep of a specified color in each. There is a small flat of land around and a small trap that encircles the spit of land to trap the escaping sheep to verify they are escaping and not dieing.
Sheep have escaped in less than 10 minutes while idling directly next to the pens. The only pen that does not loose sheep is the fence gate. I have been testing it on and off in each shapshot for a minimum of 1 hour per snapshot. Some drastically longer. For instance 1.5 has been running for over 3 hours today. Wooden fences lost 2 of 6, gates 0 of 6, nether 3 of 6, mossy 4 of 6 and cobble 2 of 6.
Peffse~ This is very very possibly what the problem was for me... because more than once I've had all my villagers end up on the bottom floor of their "appartment" building after having put them up in the upper levels... And I know full well there is a cave below... but it's a long way down.
I'am having the same problem, been testing it in creative, They will escape all fences except gates, and seem to escape the stone fences very easily even if you are standing or idling near by and not changing which chunks are loaded.
I posted a bigger more precise post in another thread (MC-9476)
As of 13w09c animals can still escape fences, I've tested it out with color coded sheep personally. It seems that they can escape from the wood fences, nether brick fences, cobble, and mossy. They do not seem to escape from fence gates. The chunk does not have to load or unload for them to escape. I've been testing in single player, idling close to all the pens. they seem to escape at higher rates when the chunk loads or unloads. They seem to be able to escape from cobble and mossy fences at a higher rate than wood and nether brick fences.
Hope something out of that will help. Can't load my main world cus I was wool harvesting when I last played and the little buggers keep getting out while I'm trying to shave them T_T
I too am having this problem. I am in peaceful mode so there is no chance that zombies are killing my villagers, each villager is in their own house, the house is locked with fences and fence gates. I have not gone particularly far away and the most recent loss (of two librarians) I had not left the area since they last bred. I have not as of yet noticed a pattern but the only thing I have noticed is as of yet no villager that I have traded with has vanished.
This was not a problem until very recently, in 1.4.5
I'm having a simmilar problem but it's only in the new snapshots. Reverting to 1.7.4 actually fixes the problem along with the very first new snapshot. Prior to 14w04a dropping I didn't have these issues, not sure why or how this is happening. I'm going to try deleting the most recent snapshots from my folders to see if that will help.
Nope. It didn't help. MC starts stalling out on me as soon as I get into the world selector for single player and doesn't ever seem to clear up. Never crashes but it totally unplayable due to stalling and dropping FPS.
