Note: I know there are naturally generated areas in the overworld where sand remains suspended in the air (which I consider normal) despite not having a solid block underneath, such as sandstone. These sand blocks will collapse if one is removed or if any block is placed on it, in this case a turtle egg, which is the main topic of the report I'll explain below
Issue: A turtle can detect an area of sand blocks suspended in the air as valid for laying its eggs. When the turtle lays its egg on one of these blocks, it will cause a collapse and its egg will remain floating in the air, which does not make much sense
Steps to reproduce:
Generate a world in creative mode with the following seed: -5223509272656164583
Once the world has been generated, enter it and go to the following coordinates: -4132 64 -2812
Once you are in the indicated location, obtain the following two items from the inventory:
Turtle Spawn Egg
Seagrass
Place two turtles specifically where there are sand blocks suspended in the air and give them Seagrass to reproduce
Observed results:
Turtles detect an area where there are sand blocks suspended in the air as valid for laying their eggs, which then causes a collapse
Expected results:
There are at least two possible solutions:
The turtles do not consider areas where there is sand suspended in the air as valid for laying eggs. This prevents the egg from remaining floating in the air after the imminent collapse
Whenever an egg detects that there are no blocks beneath it, it will fall, break, and be destroyed
I attach a video in which I reproduce the issue, following the steps explained above
☝️ I almost forgot to mention that I discovered this issue unexpectedly in my survival world when I was raising turtles. Once I detected and investigated the issue, I decided to intentionally reproduce it in creative mode
