The issue: In first-person mode, with an empty hand, the player’s arm model flickers in and out of existence at variable rates and seemingly random times. Sometimes it’s a very strong flicker that lasts multiple seconds, sometimes it’s just an occasional brief blip. This also occurs with the shield, but only sometimes with certain other held items (tested axe, spyglass, spruce log, baked potato, torch. Only spruce log and torch flickered). Chests placed in-world can also be affected. The flickers also happen while the game is paused on a singleplayer world.
Possible steps to reproduce: This happened most strongly as soon as I logged in and I think it gets worse when I’m running short distances (as opposed to turning, walking a few steps, looking around), so it might be related to world loading. After some more testing, it seems like looking at certain angles or at certain points might trigger it worse, as seen in the attached gif. It’s very hard to tell, though. It only happens in first-person, and only with certain items or an empty hand.
Expected result: Once a model is rendered, it stays rendered as long as it’s on screen, and the player’s arm and shield are always on screen in first-person.
Actual result: Arm and shield as well as in-world chests are flickering very quickly at unpredictable moments and sometimes for multiple seconds at a time.

Here are the requested images with debug screen open. The one pointed at the sky is a moment of no flickering at all; the two looking into the distance were during times of worst flickering. All were within a couple minutes of opening the game.
[media][media][media][media]As for the claim I’m running modded: I’m guessing this was assumed based on the extra HUD info, which is from a datapack. I do have a few minor datapacks running, but none that should affect visuals or loading at all, and all are fully up to date with the version. Otherwise, this is a completely vanilla instance.
Thank you for your report!
