[MC-297487] The letters in my game get corrupted the longer I play, and I will open a chest or a barrel and my screen will freeze but I can still hear the sounds from my game

Game menu freezes (including in chests/barrels/crafting table ect), whilst continuing sounds in the background. Letters continue to get more corrupted the longer I play.
