Particles not rendering through water/non-water surface

Particles are not visible for players when “light” coming out of them pass from a water to a non-water medium, in this order.

For example, bubbles inside a bubble water column can not be seen from outside water. This does not happen in the opposite direction (watching from inside water particles that are outside water), so the problem appears to be only in one specific direction across the water/non-water surface (from inside water to outside water). It happens in any spatial direction and it is indifferent if the non-water block is air or any transparent block.

Does this happen only on Fast or Fancy graphics?

Yes, it happens only on Fast and Fancy graphics (I was using Fancy). Just discovered the ‘problem’ vanishes on Fabulous graphics (particles render correctly through water). I don’t know, then, if it can be considered a bug, but it’s an strange and capricious way of working. Thanks for your response.

You need to set graphics to Fabulous! for particles to render through water/other translucent surfaces, see MC-188529.
