Exploding entities, blocks, or any projectile that causes an explosion on impact doesn’t send its damage direction to the client, making the players damage bob not tilt towards the explosion source. Instead, it will be the old right tilt or the last directional damage yaw because of MC-259212. This was tested on a purely vanilla client. Its reproducible down to 1.19.4, where the damage tilt feature itself was fixed.
Steps to Reproduce
Spawn into a world in creative with commands enabled
Place down a bed, a creeper, a tnt block, an end crystal, or respawn anchor.
Go into survival mode without taking any damage beforehand, and find a non-lethal way to explode the things listed while having your camera facing the explosion
Pay attention to the damage tilt when the explosion damages the player
Expected Result
The damage tilt would tilt towards the explosion source
Actual Result
The damage tilt defaults to right or last directional damage yaw.
