Multiple items in the crafting tab of the recipe book display two overlapping item images

The bug

I originally noticed this bug with copper ingots. It wasn't until about 15 minutes later that I noticed other items were behaving the same. The first set of instructions is for copper ingots only. Below that are the instructions for the rest of the items.

Nominal and error images have been attached. Found items with this bug:

  • Mossy Cobblestone

  • Mossy Stone Bricks

  • Waxed Cut Copper

  • Waxed Exposed Cut Copper

  • Waxed Oxidized Cut Copper

  • Waxed Weathered Cut Copper

  • Black Dye

  • Blue Dye

  • Bone Meal

  • Copper Ingot

  • Cyan Dye

  • Gray Dye

  • Light Blue Dye

  • Light Gray Dye

  • Magenta Dye

  • Red Dye

  • Stick

  • White Dye

  • Yellow Dye

Side note from testing

When running the command from step 2 (so long as at least one recipe is learned), the command line outputs "Took <maxNumberOfRecipes> of recipe(s) from <playerName>".

I understand the wildcard * covers all recipes, but a more accurate representation of the total number of recipes removed might be useful.

Steps to reproduce

For copper ingot only

  1. Run the following command to ensure that you're in Survival mode to see/navigate recipes:

    gamemode survival
  2. Run the following command to clear any learned recipes:

    recipe take @a *
  3. Run the following command:

    recipe give @a minecraft:copper_ingot
  4. Run the following command:

    recipe give @a minecraft:copper_ingot_from_waxed_copper_block
  5. Open your inventory.

  6. Open the crafting tab of the recipe book.

  7. Navigate to the copper ingot recipe.

  8. Notice the overlapping images.

    • If nothing appears, double check by executing the following command:

      recipe give @a *
    • Re-check the copper ingot recipe.

  9. Running the following command will return the image to normal:

    recipe take @a minecraft:copper_ingot_from_waxed_copper_block

For the rest of the items

  1. Run the following command to ensure that you're in Survival mode to see/navigate recipes:

    gamemode survival
  2. Run the following command to clear any learned recipes:

    recipe take @a *
  3. Run the following command:

    recipe give @a *
  4. Open your inventory.

  5. Open the crafting tab of the recipe book.

  6. Notice the overlapping images. See the attached images for reference.
