When pushing ender pearls quickly with explosions into a nether portal the game will sometimes remove all of the pearls forward momentum. If you send the pearl more slowly than it travels like expected.
Image 1 is the momentum before going into the nether portal.
Image 2 shows the momentum set to 0 the next tick when it’s in the Nether dimension.
It just removed the X axis momentum which might be because it is also the direction with the fastest momentum.
Also effects snowballs.

I’ve also been experiencing this!! I’m not sure it’s exactly a removal of forward momentum though.
As of 25w32a, on the tick where the pearl passes through the portal, it's position in the nether is what would be expected, some distance “downrange” of the portal. But, in my testing in this snapshot, advancing the game another tick causes the pearl to move left instead of forwards. I think that what looks like a removal of horizontal velocity is actually a bad coordinate transform swapping velocity vectors around.
Can confirm.
