This has been fixed in 26.1 snapshot 6. The overworld’s files have their own subfolder inside each world save.
Can confirm that this has been fixed in 26.1 snapshot 6 since since mojang explicitly replaced DIM-1 and DIM1 with dimensions/minecraft/the_nether and dimensions/minecraft/the_end.
I can confirm that this has been fixed in 26.3 Pre-Release 1 as well.
