All items and UI appear red and distorted since 1.21.5 update

After updating Minecraft to version 1.21.5, I started experiencing severe graphical issues. All item icons, the player model, and some UI elements appear bright red, distorted, or glitched. And makes the game non playable. This did not happen in version 1.21.4 or earlier.

I have tested this issue with:

  • No mods installed

  • Default resource pack only

  • No shaders

  • Updated GPU drivers

  • Clean reinstall of Minecraft

The issue persists in 1.21.5 and 1.21.6, but everything works fine when I switch back to 1.21.4.

I believe this issue is related to the graphics renderer change introduced in 1.21.5.

Screenshot of the issue and latest logs are attached. Please investigate.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch Minecraft version 1.21.5 or 1.21.6

  2. Enter any world (singleplayer or multiplayer)

  3. Observe item icons, player skin, and UI – they appear bright red and corrupted

Expected Result

Item icons, player model, and UI should render normally with default colors and shapes.

Actual Result

Textures appear red, distorted, or corrupted. The issue affects the entire inventory, UI, and skin rendering.

Environment

Specs:

GPU: Intel(R) UHD Graphics

OS: Windows 11 Pro

Java: default from launcher

Minecraft versions tested: 1.21.4 (works fine), 1.21.5 and 1.21.6 (broken)
