The bug
Starting with version 1.21.6, pressing F2 to take a screenshot results in a completely black image being saved in the screenshots folder. In any world, it results in a black PNG.
Screenshots taken the exact same way in version 1.21.5 work perfectly and show the game content as expected. This makes it likely that the issue was introduced in or after version 1.21.6.
The issue occurs in the vanilla game with no mods, shaders, or resource packs, both in fullscreen and windowed mode, and when using the official launcher with bundled Java.
Additional notes
The issue only occurs when using F2 for screenshots. External screenshot tools like Snipping Tool, ShareX, or Win+Shift+S work correctly.
This appears to be a regression in Minecraft's internal framebuffer capture.
