I can login to my Microsoft account fine, and I am able to play Minecraft Bedrock edition fine. The issue is when I am trying to play Minecraft Java edition. It asks me to input a username. My username is “crustlesspatty” but when I try and enter that username, it tells me that it’s taken - but it’s taken by me. I just want to know how to access my Java edition account.

Please log out and back into the launcher and see if this solves your issue.

If you are on Windows, you can use Windows+Alt+R to open a built-in app for recording game footage.
If you are on Mac (Mojave or later), you can use Shift+Command+5 to open a built-in app for recording your screen.
In case you don't have a program to record videos, we recommend using the free recording software OBS.

The username is taken on java edition. The Xbox username is used on bedrock, but you can use a different one on java. You can just try adding some numbers on your username for java.
Yes, but it should be taken by me. I don’t know why that username on Java isn’t synched with my Bedrock edition. The same credentials should be used for both but it’s not letting me choose the username.
