In my no mods, single player world for some reason i can enchant any item, even items like a sticks or blocks with any enchantment. Another example is on a chestplate i was able to add fire aspect and sharpness and it did more damage and set mobs on fire when i punched them with it. And my world is not using any of the experimental features.
