Translucent pixels are rendered translucent when on fire in first person. However, when other entities are on fire, or if you yourself are on fire and use one of the other cameras, it appears entirely opaque, which is wrong and inconsistent.
To reproduce: download and apply the attached resource pack, then jump into lava. The first person fire is translucent, whereas the third person fire is completely solid.
Easy fix would be to make these consistent with each other. However, I also wonder if this method of displaying “on fire” could be scrapped entirely, and replaced with the particle-based system Bedrock Edition uses (https://github.com/Mojang/bedrock-samples/blob/main/resource_pack/textures/flame_atlas.png ) as is done for other status effects.
…how on earth is this suddenly invalid, especially if it was triaged as Important?
