"Use Item/Place Block" stays toggled regardless of setting to "Hold" when key bound to a letter key

I play with “Use Item/Place Block” key bound to C on my keyboard. After updating to 25w34b the key acts as toggled, even though setting is set to hold. Makes the game unplayable as long as “Use Item/Place Block” is key bound to a key on the keyboard. (keep getting stuck in inventories)

If I reset the key bind the problem goes away.
