Using /ride on a player every tick no longer prevents them from dismounting client-side

Previously, summoning an entity (e.g. an armour stand) and running /ride @p mount @n[type=armor_stand] every tick would make the player stay stuck on the armour stand. Pressing shift would do nothing.

Now, if the player presses shift, they will dismount and then get re-mounted again. This was not mentioned in a changelog and leads to unintended flickering and lack of control over player mounting.

I cannot reproduce this issue in the latest snapshot. Please provide a video of the issue occurring with your F3 screen open.

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.

Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
