It is well established that only one copper golem can access a chest at a time, however this behaviour appears to extend to the golems ability to pathfind to a target chest. This means if a copper golem has a copper chest as its target, it will only move towards this target when the chest is not opened instead of moving to the target and waiting for the chest to be available.
To replicate the problem
Place multiple copper golems in an area
Place a copper chest in the middle of the area
✔ The copper golems will immediately start moving towards the chest
✔ Golems already in range of the chest will wait in turn to access the chest
❌ Every time the chest is accessed, every golem not in range will stop moving
I have also experienced this issue.
If a copper chest is being constantly searched, it freezes any copper golem attempting to reach it, therefore slowing it down tremendously. It won’t search for any other copper chests in the meantime which makes that copper golem useless.
I’m only using 4-5 copper golems in that hole, and one copper golem outside of it.
This is definitely something that survival players would notice.
