Slabs cause copper golems to get stuck trying to access a chest they can't

Steps to reproduce:

1. build a column of 3 copper chests

2. place a slab next to the bottom chest

3. place another copper chest somewhat nearby

4. spawn a copper golem on the slab

Expected result:

The copper golem checks the 2 accessible chests in the column, then moves on to the other chest further away

Observed result:

The copper golem checks the 2 accessible chests, then gets stuck trying to access the third chest in the column, which is too high up. the copper golem never moves on.

Notes:

the bug also affects other blocks with similar height, such as heads (on ground), sculk sensors, 5 layer snows, flower pots
