Heads Rendering as Helmet are Inconsistent with other Special Renders

This Bug Report is not referring to player heads utilizing “Special Models”. This is relating to being able to modify the item on top of the special renderer, specifically in the Helmet Slot of Entities. Special Renderers can’t be edited in ways like normal models, but they can still have their “Display” Changed & have Composite changes applied to them.

Heads are inconsistent with other Special Rendered Items. Other special rendered items correctly add Composited models to the model applied in the Helmet slot of an Entity while Heads do not. The other Special Rendered items also correctly account for the head “display” base model while head rendering on an entity does not.

Download the Provided Resource Pack. It includes 3 Custom Named Models using the Items system, Player Head, a Black Banner, & Decorated Pot. The Main testing point name is “Test Avatar W Cod” which renders a Flat Head with a Cooked Cod as a composite. Each of the 3 custom named models are named with the same thing. An Additional one for Scale is with the name “Test Big”

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download Provided Pack & Apply

2. Grab 2 Player Heads & rename 1 to “Test Avatar W Cod”.

3. Place in Helmet Slot of Player or other Entity & observe it does not add the cod above the regular Player Head while it does in the inventory.

4. Grab 1 Decorated Pot & rename it to “Test Avatar W Cod”

5. run /item replace entity @s armor.head from entity @sweapon.mainhand

6. Observe that it correctly adds the Cod to the rendering when on the helmet slot.

7. Repeat 4-6 with Black Banner to additionally Observe.

Additional Testing: Rename a Player Head to “Test Big” Should make the player head Big in the slot, but does not, while the Banner & Decorated Pot do get ‘big’

Expected Behavior

Heads display as an Item on helmet slots, applying the same behavior from other special renderers with customization & changes from Resource Packs.
