Within the "General" statistics tab of Minecraft Java Edition (the "minecraft:custom" JSON object within the stats file) there's 14 different stats called "Interactions with ..." ("minecraft:interact_with_…") and most notably the Campfire ("minecraft:interact_with_campfire") is also part of this, which also doesn’t have a dedicated user interface, thus it would only be fitting to introduce two new statistics that track the quantity of interactions with the Chiseled Bookshelf and Shelf. For the Shelf specifically it should ignore the Wood type. Any single "click" that changes the blockstate should count as an interaction (so swapping multiple items would count as one interaction).
Step to reproduce:
Place down a Chiseled Bookshelf or Shelf and put books/items in or take them out.
Expected result:
Two new entries ("Interactions with Chiseled Bookshelf" and "Interactions with Shelf") within the "General" statistics tab should increase their count.
Actual result:
These statistics entries don't exist.

I will confirm this, but Mojang may consider it a feature request. Whatever they decide, I would appreciate if they provide insight as to what is and isn’t intended to be in the “interactions with…” statistics section.
If the intention is for all blocks which can accept an item in their GUI to be listed there, then dispensers, droppers, enchanting tables and hoppers should be listed there, and it should be stated that campfires were a one-off exception
If the intention is for all blocks which can store an item or accept one in their GUI to be listed there, then dispensers, droppers, enchanting tables, hoppers, shelves, chiseled bookshelves and decorated pots should be listed there
If the intention is for all blocks or stationary entities which can store an item or accept one in their GUI to be listed there, then dispensers, droppers, enchanting tables, hoppers, shelves, chiseled bookshelves, decorated pots, armor stands and item frames should be listed there
If the intention is for all blocks or entities which can store an item or accept one in their GUI to be listed there, then if we ignore such cases as zombies and skeletons “storing” the equipment they picked up, all of the above should be listed plus chest minecarts, chest boats, hopper minecarts, donkeys, mules, villagers, wandering traders and possibly copper golems (since you can retrieve the item they’re holding) with potentially more to come in future updates. I don’t really see Mojang going this route tbh.
If the intention is for the set of included blocks to be completely arbitrary, I suppose that’s fine, but if Mojang invalidates this report and then adds a “woodcutter” block for wood carving (i.e. stonecutter for wood) and fails to add an interaction statistic for it, they would have to invalidate any report about that even though its absence would be widely noticed. So it would probably better to WAI this so that any future such reports could be considered valid.
