To reproduce: Search a number followed by either “ Attack Damage” or “ Attack Speed”, for example “5 attack damage” (note: your mouse must not be over a hotbar slot or creative inventory slot with an item in it, or you will be unable to type the number, as the game is trying)
Expected: Items shown have the given attack damage or attack speed
Actual Result: Items shown have 1 more attack damage (with the exception of 0) than the number shown or match the following results:
Search Query | Results |
---|---|
“-3 attack speed” | All items shown have 1 attack speed |
“-2 attack speed” | Stone and copper hoe |
“-1 attack speed” | Iron Hoe, with 3 attack speed |
“1 attack speed” | Iron Axe, which has 0.9 attack speed, and Iron Hoe (showing up because -1 ends with 1) |
“2 attack speed” | Stone Hoe and copper hoe, (because -2 matches 2), but also wooden, stone, and copper axes, which have 0.8 attack speed |
“3 attack speed” | All items shown have 1 attack speed, presumably showing up as a result of 3 attack speed matching the -3 attack speed search |
“4 attack speed” | All swords, with 1.6 attack speed, and the mace, which has 0.6 attack speed |
“8 attack speed” | all pickaxes, with 1.2 attack speed |
“9 attack speed” | Trident, has 1.1 attack speed |
It is worth noting that shovels properly show up when searching 5 attack damage, as their attack damage ends in a .5, and strength, weakness, and Strength II potions also correctly show up in 3, 4, and 6 attack damage searches respectively
For the positive values in the attack speed table, they all also show up when placing a period (decimal point) behind the number (trident also shows up for .9), and also with a “2.” behind it or a “-2.” this implies that what the search results are showing are the modifiers on the tools, A trident shows up for “-2.9” because it’s 1.1 attack speed is 2.9 less than the base 4 attack speed, this explains why -1, -2, and -3 have results, as they are the whole number attack speed values. searching 1 (or +1) attack damage shows 2 attack damage weapons because they have 1 more than the base 1 damage
