When fighting mobs that take minimal to no knockback with a trident (e.g. Shulker, Warden and Creaking) the trident will stay in the air attacking mobs until they move away (in the clip the enchanted trident had channelling).
You can produce the bug by getting a warden and throwing a trident from above. It should fall to the ground but it doesn't, as described above.
