MC-303450

Mipmapping on some cutout textures produces aliasing artifacts at extremely acute angles

This issue is identical to MC-302915. Which was not fixed in this snapshot despite it’s resolution.
This fix in the Sodium mod might apply here since the issues seem similar to the untrained eye such as myself.

The fix did improve this behaviour for flowers, although it’s still pretty noticable, especially with smaller flowers like dandelions.
That aside here are the most affected blocks:
- Fire
- Soul Fire
- Campfire
- Soul Campfire

Reproduction Steps:
- Place a block in front of you and set it on fire
- Walk side to side. Try to keep your camera angle at 90 degrees

Observed Results:
- Since 25w41a thin artifacts appear

Expected Results:
- Texels should not be present outside the bounds of the non-mipped texture

Thank you for your report!
After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.

Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
