As of snapshot 25w43a, Minecraft now runs on Wayland natively instead of XWayland on Linux. This comes with unfortunate side effects. One is the application icon being the Wayland icon instead of the game’s icon.
Steps to reproduce the issue
Make sure you are using Wayland and not X11
Launch snapshot 25w43a
Watch how your panel and window decoration show the Wayland icon instead of the Minecraft application icon.
Expected result
The panel and window decoration show the Minecraft icon.
Actual result
The panel and window decoration show the Wayland icon.
