Getting the darkness effect removes the fog of the nether. This is really noticable when the player first gets or loses the effect.
Steps to reproduce:
Go into the nether.
Give yourself the darkness effect.
Expected result: the darkness effect will behave normally.
Observed result: the nether fog is removed, which is such a contrast to the regular nether that it’s easily noticable.
