Blocks flash white when placing in a new chunk

The Bug

When placing blocks in a chunk, which wasn’t loaded before, they play the new chunk fading animation, which makes them flash for the set time in video settings.

Reproduce

  • Show the chunk borders with F3+G

  • Fly up so that you don’t have blocks nearby

  • Place a block by using for example /setblock ~ ~ ~ minecraft:grass_block

  • See the block flashing white

  • You can continue on this by building blocks from the grass block until you reach the chunk border

  • Once again see the block flashing white

  • If you try to break the blocks and placing them again in the same chunk, it doesn’t flash anymore

  • Alternatively you can just build up with blocks and see them flashing from time to time

Observed Result

The block flashes white.

Expected Result

The block doesn’t flash.
