Entities and block entities are not affected by the chunk fade-in effect. This looks strange and can make it slightly easier to see underwater entities when loading into a world. It would be expected that that entities and block entities would fade in along with the chunk they are in, and in the case of entities it would most likely be best to update their fade state whenever they move to a new chunk, rather than only set the state when they are first rendered.
To reproduce
Set chunk fade duration to 2s
Place a chest and look at it
Relog
❌ The chest is rendered instantly, contrasting with the blocks around it
Expected behavior
The chest would fade in like the blocks around it
