FPS significantly reduced while looking at fire.

Upon launching the latest snapshot (22w44a) on Oct 31, 2025, at 7:21pm, I found my game to be extremely laggy (0fps). Initially, it fps was standard (60-100fps), but suddenly dropped when looking towards fire (unknown if this was the cause). After moving towards the fire to investigate, the lag spread to all other sections of my world, even remaining after I left and rejoined.

Notably, the fps returns to it’s normal state when in the ESC/options menu.

The cause of the bug remains elusive, so I unfortunatly, am unable to produce an exact breakdown of how it occured or any steps to recreate the issue.

Potential Steps to recreate:

  1. Use any method to produce fire on a surface (upward facing surface)

  2. Look at fire.

Expected Result: Nothing will happen.

Actual Result: Game will become extremely laggy, fps will suddenly drop to 0.

Environment

"Tunneler's Dream" Superflat World Type.
Version 22w44a.
