Unable to summon half of a bed with block displays

Entering the command to summon a block display entity for doors and other multi-block blocks usually lets you pick the half. The command used to summon a bed does have a field to either select the head or the foot, however, trying either of these results in the full bed being summoned.

Steps to reproduce:
Use the command: /summon block_display ~ ~ ~ {block_state:{Name:"minecraft:red_bed",Properties:{part:"foot"}}}
OR
Use the command /summon block_display ~ ~ ~ {block_state:{Name:"minecraft:red_bed",Properties:{part:"head"}}}

Expected Result:
Summons a block display that shows either the head or foot of the bed.

Actual Result:
Summons a block display that shows both the head and foot of the bed connected.
