After recent changes to slot highlights they are always rendered over GUI text. While this is not a problem in most cases, servers that rely on custom fonts to display a custom GUI background now have a less cohesive experience as empty slots covered by the custom background get highlighted too. Iβm reporting this as a bug since it worked differently up to 1.21.3 1.21.6, highlighting only the opaque pixels of a sprite over the custom font instead of the whole slot.
Steps to reproduce
Join a server using custom fonts to display custom GUI background and features (i.e. Wynncraft or Origin Realms)
Open a menu with a custom GUI background
Hovering any slot will highlight the whole slot
Expected result
No slot highlight is visible except for the opaque pixels of the item. Hovering an empty slot shows no highlight.
Actual result
The whole slot is highlighted, even if itβs an empty one.
