Shield blocking animation starts before the default block_delay_seconds field, rather than after

The blocking animation of shields begins before the default block_delay_seconds field has completed, rather than after. This causes the vanilla shield’s block delay to be misleading to players, making them feel like their block was ignored.

  • Note that this is not a duplicate of MC-100949, as that report is about the delay itself, not the animation failing to play after the default shield’s delay value completes.

  • Note that this is also not a duplicate of MC-279799, as that report is about custom shields that are changed to have longer block_delay_seconds values than the default.

Expected Result: The shield block animation begins after the default block_delay_seconds value has completed.

Observed Result: The shield block animation begins before the default block_delay_seconds value has completed.
