When killed by wither head explosion, items failing to drop.

When killed by wither with the death message “<player> was blown up by wither skull” items seem not to drop. We had this occur 3 times, im not sure if this is the intended behaviour or not. It didnt appear as if the items are being dropped and then being destroyed by subsequent explosions. It is the same skull that is both killing the player and destroying the items. The wither rose dropped by the death of the player was not destroyed in any of the cases.

Also sidebar for the off chance that my ideas can be translated to the development team, i think the enchantments blast protection and fire protection should be able to protect the dropped items from being destroyed by explosions and fire/lava respectively.
