When breeding up a baby nautilus it is able to despawn if you travel far enough away which feels like breeding it from tamed nautilus should allow it to be persistent.

I tested this in 1.21.11 and was able to reproduce the issue. The baby nautilus was marked as tamed, as it shows the death message when killed, but still despawns when leaving the area.
I also tested in 26.1-snapshot-4 and was not able to reproduce it there.
