Online Multiplayer Skin is not Showing up

When playing multiplayer with a friend of mine, we both use custom skins. Recently a problem appeared, on my screen her skin seems to consistently appear at the default (Steve) rather than her custom skin. On her screen her skin is completely fine. We’ve both attempted to restart our games and she has changed her skin multiple times. Each time her skin continues to show up as the default on my end. I’m not entirely sure why this is the case.
