When a 2x2 spruce tree is grown on sloped ground, the podzol seems to generate on the wrong layer, and creates a floating layer rather than replacing the grass like normal. This may have to do with “grass” being on the layer below it, so it creates a false layer.

@kyleisNOTmyname I didn’t even think of that, that’s my bad. It probably has been fixed. The terrain was still jacked up from when this occurred in 21.6, so when I was still planting trees in that area while on 21.7 it probably seemed like it was still happening, and I didn’t even think to check whether it actually was.

Are you sure the affected versions is correct?
This describes MC-306185 pretty well. MC-306185 is no longer reproducible and was only an issue in 26.1-snapshot-6.
Could not reproduce in 26.1-snapshot-7 on flat or sloped ground.
