Launcher asks to buy the game when I bought it

Hello, I have been playing Minecraft Java for some time now. Today minecraft launcher is asking me to buy the game even though I bought it about 6 months ago and have been playing ever since. I don’t understand what the problem is.

i have the same problem

I have had this exact same problem, I’ve played the game two days ago, and it is asking for my purchase of Java edition again although I already purchased it, oddly though, Bedrock Edition is still purchased and playable. Seeing as we both raised this issue today, I doubt this is a coincidence.

i have it too my friend also

I have the same issue

I’ve maneuvered it so the launcher works, but when I use Modrinth, it still doesn’t work

You have to use Xbox to press play, then reopen the launcher, and then Minecraft works again, but only directly from the launcher

hey guys! im draws friend. Basically to gix the issue, you have to go to the modrinth app, and whichever way you originally bought the game, find it, click it, then click play. It will ask you to pick a type of minecraft either bedrock or java. pick java obviously. Then it takes you to the java page and you should be able to download it from there. If you use modrinth idk how to fix it from there, goodluck. But thats basically all we have been able to fix. your welcome

Thank you for your report!
