towering 3 blocks doesn't stop iron golem

Towering three blocks, should stop an Iron Golem right? Nope I lost a hardcore world to this bug. Please fix it Mojang.

I tested myself and this didn’t happen. I think you might have just gotten too close to the iron golem.
